2. Highly transparency observed in the films
3. Can be folded in to various shapes while retaining optical properties
4. Tunable and stable luminescence in multiple colours
5. Very small quantities of lanthanide required- Lanthanide : PMMA proportion - 0.5-5W%
Overcomes loss of transparency due to photochemical degradation due inorganic nanoparticles
The PMMA composite films are recyclable.
Toxicity (biological or ecological) of lanthanides yet to be tested.
Films can be used/coated on various substrates
Applications: Invisible security ink, biomaterials, smart or adaptive materials, color tunable displays, chemical sensors, and electronic materials
