About Protoalpha Accelerator: The protoalpha accelerator is a Product Realization Accelerator that helps innovators who have product ideas but lack resources and capabilities to convert their ideas into early stage prototypes. As part of the protoalpha accelerator, Venture Center worked with 6 ideators to develop solutions to various unmet needs. It is a truly pioneering initiative in which we helped advance an idea and completely fund an early prototype under a codevelopment model, with BMeK as our technical partner for the program. 

About Dr. Avijan Sinha’s journey: During rehabilitation of patients with brain injury or stroke, measurement of response time performance and monitoring its change over time has important implications for the treatment.  Measurement of response time also plays an important role in sports training for players involved in fast action sports. Dr Avijan Sinha, a physiotherapist at Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital, approached the protoalpha team with the idea of a response measurement board, which measures, displays and stores the response time to visual stimulus by an individual. An early prototype of this response measurement board was designed and developed during the protoalpha accelerator.

TechEx Role: TechEx.in has played an important role in drafting and finalizing the terms of the joint development agreement and in facilitating know-how transfer to the incorporated startup – Taaviicare – to take the technology ahead.
